They are here!!!

Today was hands down the greatest day of my life. Kate, after 34 weeks, gave birth to Evelyn Walsh, Connor Patrick and Maxwell Henry. The babies and mom are all doing great. I really cannot put into words how amazing this day has been. Their birth was so fast it seems like a blur, one minute Kate was being prepped and 90 seconds later all three we born. Max was first followed by Connor and then Evelyn. All came out screaming. I was able to cut Evelyn's umbilical cord. The best part was changing Max's diaper and getting to hold him for 20 minutes tonight. I felt jealous about spending so much time with Max but Connor was completely passed out and Evelyn was having a really exciting dream that I did not want to disturb. I have so many emotions right now, but in the end I just feel immense joy. Also, if I already didn't have enough admiration for Kate, I do now. She has been nothing short of fantastic. I need to sleep so I can wake up and see the kids faces tomorrow!!!

On the brink of 34 weeks

It is crazy to think that Kate came to the hospital 7 weeks ago. I was sure that she was going to deliver within the first week of our arrival and then again on 30 weeks. Making it to 34 weeks is unbelievable and it means that we are so close to having our healthy trio in our arms soon. I have developed a rhythm to life while Kate has been in hospital but I cannot wait to start this next stage of life.

I'M HUGE!

I thought these two pics would really show how absolutely gigantic I am now. This first picture I was probably 2 or 3 months pregnant.

This picture I'm 32 weeks and 5 days. Look how scared I look!

32 weeks and 4 days

I can't believe I'm still here! After a couple more false alarms my contractions have slowed down again and now we wait.... and wait....and wait. I know they will be here soon and that I will vaguely remember this time in the hospital. I'll probably laugh about how annoyed I was that I had nothing to do.

We did have an ultra sound today and the babies are growing like crazy!! Baby A (the little girl) is 4.2 lbs, Baby B is 3.9, and Baby C is 3.12. They are all looking really good and all the docs are very impressed with their weights. The ultra sounds are very different now-a-days. It's just a bunch of body parts all shoved together. Todd and I can't tell what anything is anymore. Their fluid looks great too!

The stats

31 weeks 5 days pregnant with 3 babies
3 days at home on bed rest
5th week in the hospital on bed rest
34 days in the hospital on bed rest
2 times on magnesium sulfate (yuck)
a total of 118 hours on magnesium
babies measured 3.2 lbs (baby A), 3.3 lbs (baby B), 3.2 (baby C) last week (those are big babies!)
2 maggie visits!
and....

1 false alarm this morning!

My contractions were between every 1 and 3 minutes. They called in the nurse practitioner, 2 nurses, and a doc and decided to do another cervix check. I called Todd and gave him a heads up that if my cervix has gone from 3 to 4 then I'm technically in labor and would be prepped for the OR. BUT they said the contractions weren't really affecting my cervix as it's still at 3. BUMMER! They also said I could either start labor any minute or stay like this for a couple weeks! That's the kind of awesome answers I get around here ;). Well, everyone IS different so it's hard to determine what's really going on. I get it. It's just frustrating after sooo long in the hospital.
