1 month birthday (a couple days late)

For their 1 month birthday I thought I'd write a little bit about what each kid is up to. We're all doing well and completely amazed at how wonderful these babies are. We are soooooo lucky!

Maxwell Henry
(aka Max, Mr. Max, Mad Max, Maxamillion)
5 lbs 14.5 oz

Max is the first born by a matter of seconds. He started 'cry eating' and unfortunately introduced it to Connor. When he's not cry eating he's sleep eating which is much nicer! He's really good at getting out of his swaddle when sleeping. He always sleeps in the funniest positions and sometimes the exact position as Connor. Max also makes the most concerning faces so he must be thinking really hard about life already. He's getting bigger every day and is quickly catching up to Evi. It's amazing to see how fast everyone is growing and all the new things they do every day!

Connor Patrick
(aka C-man, Con Man, Konger...that one is just mean to Maggie)
5lbs 13.8 oz
Connor is the middle child :). He loves staring at his brother and sister during play time and he makes the most adorable sound while he sleeps. It's like a little bird cooing with every breath.

Both boys sound like gremlins when they cry sometimes.  They have a very wet throaty cry that sounds like a little monster.

Evelyn Walsh
(aka Evi, Evs, Heavy Evi...just because she weighs the most. I hope she doesn't develop a complex)
5lbs 15.9 oz

Evi is the baby of the bunch since she's the last born. When Evi cries the world must stop. She has the loudest and most piercing cry that threatens to wake everyone else up. She's the first to be able to pick up her head when she's on tummy time and move it to either side.
All of them are almost out of their preemie clothes. They are all starting to keep their focus on things, grab at our faces, and pull our hair. They have really strong grips on our fingers and can even hold their pacifiers by themselves. They attempt to hold their bottles but have not master it. They've been eating every 4 hours and are pretty good at sleeping in between, except for the occasional meltdowns. They are also eating about 90 mls a feeding and their doctor is very impressed with their growth!
Baby burritos!

There first day home!

Maggie
(aka Mag Dog, Magnolia, Magdeleana)
57 lbs 4oz

Maggie is the oldest sister to the bunch and is very protective of the trips but also a little scared of them. She sleeps in their room every night. So we like to think she loves them that much but it is the only air conditioned room in the house! One night someone lit off a firework outside and Maggie ran downstairs and barked at the door then ran back up to their room and checked each crib individually before she could lay down again.

Just a couple more pics.... (cause I can't stop!)

2 weeks yesterday!

They are growing so fast. Evelyn is in the lead at 4 lbs 8 oz., then Max and Connor both weighing 4 lbs 5 oz, which are all above their birth weights. They are all taking half of their feedings by bottle a day. If they can take all of them they will be ready to come home. This weekend they reached another milestone in that they are out of their isolets and have moved into open cribs. This has made taking care of them much easier. Also, the trips have had their second baths, we are not naming names (the boys) but two of the triplets decided it would be fun to poop while having a bath! They are incredibly healthy and hopefully they will be home soon.

Evi wasn't too sure if she like the bath or not

Looking back over the past weeks we realize how fortunate we are that everything has gone well. This is especially true of the c-section that Kate had. Some of the women we've met over Kate's two-month stay in hospital have not had such luck and they are still struggling with complications. There are so many things that can go wrong with multiples throughout pregnancy, delivery and having premmies in the NICU. We are constantly thinking of our friends who are having a rough time and also are so thankful that things so far have been wonderful for us.
