7 months

This pretty much sums up the last month!

Sick boys. Max was not putting up with Connor's good mood.
This month has been the hardest yet. Todd went on a business trip, the kids have been passing a bug back and forth for that eventually turns into an earache for over a month, and honestly I've been exhausted. Every triplet mom I talk to says, "don't worry it gets easier as they get older." I keep thinking it's getting harder. When they were younger they ate, slept, pooped, and we had it down to a pretty strict schedule. We had time to run quick errands, walk the dog, sleep occasionally, take a shower, etc. Now it's all hit the fan. So, I'm going to officially say it..."6 months is the hardest yet especially when they all have colds." I'm excited for 7 months to start and hopefully be germ free.

Our little sweet peas started eating solids this month! They started with....sweet peas! Ok, actually it was rice cereal and then a banana but then it was sweet peas so I can sorta say that. We got the ok from our pediatrician that they can start solids awhile ago but for some reason we wanted to wait a little longer. We brought out the rice cereal and they ate it up like crazy. Mouths wide open, chewing motions, and giant smiles. I guess they were more than ready. So, we moved on to a banana which went over pretty well too. However, we forgot that we read somewhere not to start them on fruits because then they might not ever want their veggies. oops. So, we started again with sweet peas. This is hilarious to watch. They take a spoonful and then realize that it's absolutely disgusting and their whole bodies shake as they spit out half of it. I have to agree with them though. Mushed up peas are pretty nasty...the taste, the color, the smell, everything. Not sure what's next avocado? sweet potato? carrots? It's really insane all the info that's out their about how to start your children on solids. Certain foods help their digestion while such and such is good for their brain but don't forget to provide enough vitamin d! so, I sorta stopped reading all of it. I do ask friends for their opinions and take the bits and pieces I like in their philosophies.

Ok, prepare yourself for cuteness overload. I couldn't pick just one of these. Evi was so proud of herself in her tutu it was too funny!

Good Ole Maggie!
Evi is infatuated with Maggie! (it's not mutual)
City Park...our stomping grounds

We've had some amazingly warm January days (beautiful Colorado!) so we have left the house a tiny bit.

Taking the 'big kid' stroller for a spin.

The nursery is getting cramped!
They were happy occasionally this month....

Connor is working on holding his own bottle!

I do have to say Todd and I have an amazing group of friends and family out here that have bent over backwards to help us whenever we've needed it. We are so lucky. While Todd was in Vermont on business we had different people visit us everyday. They brought food, played with babies, went on walks, and Aunt Erin and Uncle Mike even helped me out by spending the night so I could have help at the 6am feeding! I wish I was able to feed the babies by myself. I can't believe there was a time when I could. Now that is impossible.

O and check out how close Connor is to crawling!!!

6 months

As the triplets get older I'm finding these blog entries harder and harder to do. But here goes. This month we once again had a lot of visitors and a lot of holidays! I can't believe we even got it together to get a Christmas card out! They had their 6 month doctor appointment and they are doing great! They did have their first real sickness. Connor and Evi both got ear aches and somehow Max avoided it. But we were ALL sick for awhile. No one slept and there was lots of mucus and grossness in the Haggerty household.

Here are their most recent stats...
Max: 12lbs 6.9oz and 2ft 0.8in!!
Connor: 12lbs 5.3oz and 2ft 0.9in!!
Evi: 13lbs 6.3oz and 2ft 0.9in!!

(guess who?...it's Max)

and Con Man
and sweet little Evi-cakes

some favorites...
songs: frere jacques and the itsy bitsy spider
books: on the night you were born and 5 little monkeys
toys: the 5 little monkeys , captain calamari, and basically anything that will fit in their mouths
activity: playing in the exersaucers and jumperoo
soccer team: tottenham and QPR(just Max)
body part: hands. they love to stare at them, chew on them, and sometimes stick them too far down their throats.
sounds: Evi has a deep growling roar. Connor has high pitched squeaks and Max make "llll" sounds using his tongue a lot.
ticklish spot: upper back

Linnea also came to town! She got to spend some quality time with her god daughter!

They are definitely getting little personalities. Evi is such a happy baby. She laughs at all our jokes, songs, dance moves, etc. no matter how terrible they are. I'm sure one day this will stop and we will embarrass her horribly. Even when she first wakes up and sees you she'll give you a great big smile. It might immediately turn into a screaming cry but her smile makes your day! She's starting to get a little scared of strangers especially of men with facial hair for some reason. It just takes her a little bit to get comfortable, I guess.

Connor is sorta a flirt. He'll shyly smile and then quickly look away like he's embarrassed that you saw that but that he thinks it's pretty darn funny. He still loves to talk especially in the morning. He'll calmly babble to himself all morning long. Sometimes he even lets out really high pitch squeaks and squeals. He's pretty ticklish too and once you get him going he can't stop. He's very close to crawling too. He currently is mastering the backwards army crawl.

Max is still the thinker. He really concentrates on toys and you can just see his wheels turning. Then he figures everything out first. He's a master at the exersaucer and moves around to all the toys and figures them all out. His laugh is quite hilarious too. (a little nerdy) He takes in really deep breaths as his laugh. It's adorable but hard to explain. I can totally see his Haggerty-ness when he gets older of being the one that's always asking questions, reading encyclopedias for fun like his dad, and asking why, why, why? He also seems to grab things more with his left hand. Maybe a future lefty??? like his uncle mike?? He's a talker but more so in the afternoon. I guess they gotta let each other have their own time to shine.

Max and Sophia really hit it off!

Our friend Shiela has twins, Blake and Sophia, that are only 2 months older. She's made the trip from Boulder to hang out with us a couple times. It's so fun seeing all the babies together and just laughing at how crazy all of this is. It's no big deal watching 5 babies...heehee. At least when they leave I sorta feel like, "ah, it's just the three...phew!" :)

And then there was Christmas! They had so many cute Christmas outfits we had to have multiple outfit changes!
Max rocking away

Christmas morning was so cute. There were sooo many present under the tree for these lucky kiddos. They attempted to open presents too. Evi really really "got" it. She loved ripping up the paper. Max and Connor needed some coaxing and some help. Maggie "got" it. She always has though.

For new year's AJ (their godfather) and his fiancé Kris came to town and spoiled us like crazy. AJ made the most amazing meal and brought the most adorable outfits for the trips.

In our spare time, Todd and I painted this wall. I love it!!!

o, and these happy guys had to be included....
