They are starting to hold their own bottles which has completely changed my life. I thought they never would! Maybe they can do all kinds of things I'm not letting them try yet. hmmmm. I might have to break out the tricycles. jk! I think they'll be walking pretty soon. They all pull up on furniture and side step and sometimes even let go for a few seconds. They love sitting in 'big people' chairs. Sometimes it's the simplest things that get them so excited.
Todd took a week off work to stay home with the family. It was so incredibly nice! We got a TON of chores done around the house but also had a couple date nights, family fun, and it felt like a real vacation. Todd, Erin and I also ran the colfax 1/2 marathon. It was by far the furthest I've ever ran but so much fun and rewarding. It's amazing to think last year I was watching Todd, Mike, Jess, Erin and friends run that race from my hospital window. Maybe next year we'll run the full marathon. Just kidding!!!!
They also had their first trip to the zoo. We went really early when they first open and we were the only ones there AND all the animals were eating breakfast. It was pretty fun. We've had a couple play dates with Liam and even went out to breakfast with everyone!
The choo choo has made us quite popular in the neighborhood. We've meet tons of young parents with new little ones, a couple sets of twins, kids even ran out of their house the other day screaming 'they're coming, they're coming!"
They all took their first swing ride too and loved it.
so this had to happen.... (of course)
Max got his first tooth on May 18th! I remember Evi getting her first tooth and she cried really hard for 10 mins, but it felt like forever. Max cried for 45! It was forever! He wouldn't let me put him down. He had to be in my arms and he was hugging me so tight. Which all would have been totally under control if it wouldn't have happened on the one random day I'm all by myself for the whole day. This little incident also occurred during the worst possible part of our schedule. It all went down in the middle of lunch, before diaper changes and then nap time. So imagine all that taking place (by myself) while holding a screaming baby. Every one of my limbs was put to work and some were doing double time. By the time I got everyone cleaned up, diapers changed, brought upstairs, put to bed (while holding Max) I ran down to get him some tylenol and as I ran up to give it to him he was fast asleep. And that was that. No more mention of any tooth related pain. He just wanted some serious mom time. What a sweetheart.

Max absolutely loves his new toy tunnel. As soon as we open it he runs in it and laughs and laughs. If we close it up so it's just a hoop he'll find it and sit in the hoop until we open it. He loves loves loves anything that is remotely like a fort. If we put a blanket over him he'll crack up. I don't know what all that means....

Connor will probably be the first walker. He loves to walk when you hold his hands and is a very speedy crawler. He also entertains himself by pushing a ball and then crawling to chase it all over the house. Connor seems to be the most adventurous, he's into everything. He loves the camera. He loves playing 'human jungle gym' with anyone. He will look at you across the room and sprint over just to crawl on you and maybe dive head first off the other side of you. Once we turned our back for two seconds and I only counted 2 babies so Todd and I frantically searched the room until he popped his head out from under the couch! We also had two of our biggest scares so far. Connor woke up from his 2 hour nap and didn't want his bottle which is very unusual. We thought it was cute cause he made a funny face when he tried to drink it. Then I looked in his mouth and he had a three inch piece of painters tape that was folded over 5 or 6 times in his mouth!!!! He must of had it in there the entire nap time! Max also gave us a scare when he fell off the play house and landed on his head. He was fine but it definitely scared us. On his way down he barely brushed Evi's arm and she ended up crying forever. (my reaction probably scared her actually)
And some more pics....
| Apparently, this is a really funny game. |
