Here's the before shot...
Someone said Evi looked like a cake topper! She looked so precious!
Max, Connor, and Evi are 1 year olds! It's amazing and brings a tear to my eye for sure! It's hard to believe Todd and I survived a year as well. Looking back I have to say "IT. WAS. HARD." The sleepless nights, weeks, months and walking around in a fuzz were rough. The month of sickness in January was definitely a test of our ability to survive. I think that was the hardest moment as of yet and I keep thinking it really has gotten easier since then. This year they went from three tiny 3-4 pound blobs of beautifulness to talking (babbling) walking toddlers! wow!
Their birthday was a lot of fun! I made them each their own two tiered cake with strawberries. No big deal. Hahaha. yes, it was! It took me all night and into the next morning but it was so worth it! I ran out of ingredients multiple times, messed up a batch, and could only turn on the oven late at night or really really early in the morning because of the heatwave. BUT I wouldn't have changed a thing. I've always wanted to make a big deal over their birthdays and had fun working hard at it! Todd worked hard too getting ready for the party. It was really a fun fun day! I'm pretty sure they loved their first taste of sugar!

Mike and I got to sneak away for a much needed hike in the mountains. This is Mt. Evans at 14,264 feet!!

Grandpa Bob came for a visit

Aunt Jess and Liam at the farmers market
Connor got his first tooth on 6/10 and he got two at one time...ouch. Evi however cut three of her top teeth all at once. triple ouch! I was a little scared her meltdowns were turning into temper tantrums but happy to see her teeth cut threw so we can use that excuse for awhile. Max is still chugging along with two teeth.
I was thinking about things singleton parents never have to worry about and here's a little list I came up with...
- changing a diaper while another kid crawls up and steals the dirty diaper but you still have to wipe the first kid
- having two loaded up in the choo choo outside in the alley when one decides to poop so you have to change him outside...in the alley.
- listening to the other two scream while they wait their turn for their scoop of food to make it through the line up again
- trying to sneak into the bedroom during nap time and grab the one kid that's awake without waking up the other two. (which means tip toeing into the room trying not to step where the floor creaks, not making eye contact with anyone, stepping over gates, not stepping on toys or anything that makes music, etc. etc. It's quite the feat!)
Yes, having triplets is hard but I can't write the previous list without mentioning ALL the amazing joys that come with it. So here are just a few...
- watching them laugh hysterically at each other and you have no idea why
- one will be softly crying after a nap because they're still sleepy and all you have to do is show him/her to one of their happier brother/sister and they start laughing and everything is ok
- triple the snuggles, triple the kisses, triple the smiles, giggles and LOVE
- you get to see all the firsts three times and they are all so different with all their personalities, styles, and approaches. The way they took their first steps, the first time they said mama or dada, the way they eat for example... (Evi has likes to chew then spit it out then chew it again. Connor fills his mouth soooo full until he can't possibly fit any more in. He doesn't care that it's all mixed up. He'll eat it all up! Max is a good eater too but when he's done he likes to rub is hands all over his face and hair.)
